Welcome to the web-site of the Biofuel Accreditation Scheme - the scheme that works towards ensuring the delivery of good quality biofuel in New Zealand:

  • that meets the New Zealand Engine Fuels Specifications Regulations 2011,
  • is suitable for use:
    • in most diesel vehicles as a B5 or higher blend (biodiesel)
    • in most motor vehicles as an E5 or higher blend (bioethanol)
  • is sourced from sustainable feedstocks, and
  • is produced in line with quality driven processes.

  • users (or those thinking about being a user) of biodiesel or bioethanol who want to be sure that they can source a high quality sustainably produced product; and

Biofuel industry participants

  • those who are actively producing, blending and transporting or selling biofuels and want to be part of a Scheme that accredits their practices.
